1. Why do you charge to play my song on your radio? We DO NOT charge to play your song on our station. We charge an Administration fee for processing your song submission applications and scheduling. (Minimum 100 songs per month)

2. Are you breaking the law for playing my song on your radio station? Is this Payola? The payola statute, 47 USC Section 508, applies to radio stations and their employees, so by its terms it does not apply to Internet radio (at least to the extent that Internet Radio is not transmitted by radio waves –

3. Can I get paid for my songs being played on your station? Radio airplay is considered a public performance. Public performances generate performance royalties for songwriters, which are collected by the PROs (ASCAP, BMI, or SESAC). In the US, terrestrial broadcasters (AM or FM stations) do not pay performers or sound recording copyright owners; they only pay the songwriters. Please read this article to get an understanding as to who gets paid from spins. 

4. Can you play my song for free? Yes. Songs that meet radio station standards and are “Radio friendly” receive one free spin per album and EP, for 24 hours.

5. What does “Radio Friendly” mean? This term simply means, Suitable for play on mainstream radio; appealing to popular taste, free from profanity, etc.

5. Is it illegal to charge to play my song? The artists and record labels do not get paid for the songs being played over the radio, only the songwriters. This only applies to regular radio, not internet streaming. Artists/labels can and do get paid for that.

6. Why do you have different song packages? We provide bundled airplay packages to lower the cost of our administration fees., otherwise artist would pay an admin fee per song. If you add up our fees plus the number of songs per your album or ep, our fees can add up.

7. Do I get paid for my song being played on the radio? The singer does not get paid when their song gets played on the radio unless they wrote the song. Only the songwriter and the publisher get royalties from songs on the radio. The PROs (performing rights organizations) collect royalties and distribute them to the songwriters and publishers.

8. Are you a licensed radio station? Yes. We hold an ASCAP License., just to cove our tracks so that our “Haters” can’t slow us down from promoting your music. Our license covers the songwriters of the tracks listed in our music library.

9. What does the ASCAP license do? ASCAP gives us a license to entertain our customers, guests and employees with the world’s largest musical repertory. One of the greatest advantages of the ASCAP license is that it gives us the right to play millions of musical works in the ASCAP repertory.

10. How can I  get my songs on the socialites reality show soundtrack? to get your songs on the Socialites Reality Show Soundtrack. A representative will contact you upon your inquiry. 

11. What if I’m too late, what if you’ve already received all the submissions for the soundtrack? You can still submit your songs for upcoming seasons and episodes. This is our option. Songs are accepted on a first-come-first-serve seasonal basis.

This means, if you miss the opportunity of your song making it on the current season, it will automatically be placed on the next, upcoming season. You will be notified of which season your song will appear on, before the season airs.
